Cmde Uday Bhaskar retired from the Indian Navy after 37 years of active service. Prior to retirement, he was Member Secretary of the Government of India Task Force on Global Strategic Developments. HE has held the positions of Officiating Director and Deputy Director of the Institute for the Defence Studies and Analyses, New Delhi. He has worked on nuclear proliferation, India-US relations and maritime issues and is currently working on comprehensive security in the post-Cold War period. Awarded the Vishist Seva Medal in 1985, he is also a recipient of Prime Minister’s letter of commendation. Cmde. Bhaskar is the founding editor of the naval journal Quarterdeck, a former editor of Strategic Analysis and holds positions on several boards and advisory committees.
